Mission 2007--India & Nepal

"How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

Dear Friend,

From July 26 through August 18, Lord willing, I will be ministering with a mission team going to India and Nepal. I have been invited to be a part of a team to go with John Hoeldtke of FLAME MINISTRIES. John has made several previous ministry trips to India as well as other countries. I ministered with him in India in 2002 and 2004. This mission will take us to three large population centers.

First, we will be returning to the city of Madurai, in southern India, and the surrounding area, where we ministered in both 2002 and 2004. We will, Lord willing, be ministering to village pastors in that region. Last time we were there, they had a total of 272 men attending the pastors conference. Arrangements will be made through Joshua Vijayakumar, head of the Evangelical Church Growth Mission, a man with whom Rev. Hoeldtke has worked for years.

From Madurai we will take an overnight train to the city of Bangalore. As we did in 2002, we will be ministering at Maranatha Baptist Bible College. Students in this school come from all over India. A Flame Ministries three-day Pastors and Christian Leaders Conference will be held. This is being advertised in many places in India. Arrangements here will be made through P. J. Mathai, the President of the College, another man with whom Rev. Hoeldtke has worked a number of times.

From Bangalore, we are scheduled to fly to Kathmandu, Nepal, where we will, among other things, be conducting another three-day Pastors Conference. The Kathmandu Valley Pastors Association expects more than 400 pastors to attend this event. An invitation for us to minister in Kathmandu came from a pastor who had attended the Flame Ministries Pastors and Christian Leaders Conference at Maranatha Baptist Bible College in 2002. We are thankful for this invitation and pray God’s rich blessings upon our labors in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Costs for this trip are considerable. Travel expenses alone will be over $2900. In addition money will be needed for housing, food, etc., and also to help with other expenses. (The policy of FLAME MINISTRIES is to cover costs of any meetings and conferences in India so as not to be a burden on the indigenous Christian leaders). Total costs for my part will probably amount to $3700.

If you believe the Lord would have you help with the costs of this mission trip please send a contribution to:

Funds are needed by July 18. If you would like to help, make your check payable to FLAME MINISTRIES and indicate on an accompanying slip that it is for “A. B. Caneday Mission Trip.” FLAME MINISTRIES is an approved non-profit corporation. A receipt for your tax-deductible gift will be returned to you.

I, and the others going, would appreciate your prayers for our health, safety, and spiritual effectiveness for this mission.

Thanks for your consideration to participate in this ministry with your monetary gifts and your prayers.

Sincerely in Christ,

Ardel Caneday
